60 Spring Gardens was the site of The Manhattan, the basement venue of The Smiths 2nd gig on
01/06/82. Here Andy Rourke made his live debut as a Smith. It was James Maker's last time dancing on stage with the band.
The Manhattan was demolished in 1985 and then rebuilt. It reopened one year later and is now an insurance company office.
